Oud

The oud is an instrument resembling a big mandolino, with two strings for each note, played with a flexible stick; it is typical for palestinian music. These pieces are performed by Ferid Abrhim Dadoun, which is israelian, also together with Saed Fakhuri, palestinian, in the reharsals. It was a hot afternoon on the terrace of the Faisal hostel drinking mint tea, out of Damascus gates in east Jerusalem the 8 august, during its occupation by israeli military forces.

Minareto

This short recording, which i digitally remastered, is the chant of the Muezzin in the palestinian city of Gaza, recorded from Marion's terrace at the dawn of the 8 august, while israeli soldiers were breaking into the territories of Gaza's strip.

Dheishe's childs

Chants, voices and choruses recorded in Bethlehem inside the Dheishe camp, during a party in the hall of the Ibdaa center the 14th august: there were present almost 200 hundred palestinian girls singing traditional songs and poetry, celebrating the end of their summer camp; it was during the days of occupation of their town.

Music from Bethlehem

In Beit Sahour, a district of Bethlehem, i visited the Giadall cultural center where i had the pleasure to meet Wassim Qassis, a palestinian musician which composed and realized "Mo Ayad", on the words written by Nassari Ibrahim and singed by Rania Issaac.
